Equipson Group acquires Musicson, Spain's long-standing professional audio brand.
Musicson, Spain's long-standing professional audio brand.
Equipson Group announces the addition of Musicson to its brand portfolio, consolidating its position as a leader in the professional audiovisual sector.
MUSICSON is a pioneer in the manufacture of professional sound systems in Spain, founded in 1958 by Joaquin Benavent Pérez under the name JOBESONIK, and renamed MUSICSON seven years later (in 1965).
With more than six decades of history, its own acoustic expertise, and an unmistakable audio identity, it stands as the professional sound equipment brand with the longest track record in Spain.
The connection between Equipson and Musicson
Thirty-three years ago, José Luis Vila and Remedios Martínez, founders of the Equipson Group, were part of Musicson’s history. During that time, José Luis Vila, who worked at Musicson for 17 years, served as sales director, while Remedios Martínez headed the import department.
“For me, acquiring the Musicson brand fills me with pride, as I have a special fondness for it. It’s the brand that got me started in this industry.”
— José Luis Vila, CEO of Equipson.

What does this acquisition mean for the pro audio industry in Spain?
A commitment to Local Manufacturing in Spain
Equipson Group’s decision to acquire MUSICSON comes at a time when many European brands are choosing to relocate their production. In the face of this trend, this move reaffirms a clear stance: to invest in local talent, Spanish infrastructure, and in-house manufacturing technology.
MUSICSON is established as the Equipson Group’s brand for the development and manufacture of medium and large format sound systems, a product category in high demand for permanent installations, live performances, and large-scale audiovisual projects.
The opening of MUSICSON's New Factory
As part of this initiative, Equipson Group has decided to invest in the creation of its own speaker factory at its main facilities in the L’Alteró Industrial Park in Silla, Valencia.
This new project involves the incorporation of latest-generation machinery and new technologies tailored to current market demands, and also marks a new chapter as the company separates from the historic Musicson factory.
The model that has already had success with FANTEK
This is not the first time that Equipson Group has undertaken a transformation of this kind. In 2015, FANTEK became a European leader in the sector of structures and lifting systems for events and shows.
The roadmap for MUSICSON is identical: to respect and build upon its legacy, invest in personnel, technology, and infrastructure, and expand the brand into new markets, supported by more than 60 years of experience.
The sound of the past, present, and future; made in Spain.

MUSICSON’s evolution begins with its new branding, designed to honor its history and carry it forward.
For sound technicians, audio engineers, event companies, and entertainment professionals, MUSICSON offers a unique proposition: the guarantee of a sound with its own distinct personality, manufactured with artisanal care, supported by decades of experience, and now powered by the industrial and commercial capabilities of a growing group.
The legend of MUSICSON is not only still alive.
Its next chapter has just begun.
